Genuine tempo from Airport Liner leading Ken Atlas. AIRPORT LINER (4) sets the standard on recent Urawa form, having won his past two in 3yo+ A2B1 company here and again beating Ken Atlas last time, albeit only by a nose. His track-and-distance record gives the profile real substance. KEN ATLAS (5) is the obvious danger after three straight seconds, including that narrow defeat to Airport Liner and a solid Ohi placing over 1800m, though he needs to turn consistency into a win. WIND FLAVOR (1) brings a different case: he closed strongly when seventh at Ohi, beaten two and a half lengths, and had been fourth here before that, so the return to Urawa keeps him firmly in play. SIENA NO PALIO (3) lacks the same winning edge but is racing honestly, with consecutive Funabashi thirds and a strong jockey-horse record making him the next most reliable hope.

If he holds that level fresh, he is the clear benchmark. |
