Insufficient early speed to generate more than a muddling tempo. IBARAHIME (8) gets the nod after a sharp Kasamatsu win over this trip, scoring by four lengths from Lino Luana when the market had not fully found her. That was a clear return to form after a plain 3yo Maiden run at Niigata, and her one-from-one record at both the track and distance gives her the strongest profile. A SHIN NIMBUS (1) is the main threat, having fought out a half-length win here last start as one of the better-fancied runners, with Tatsuya Watanabe staying aboard and a third-up platform to build from. SENRYO YAKUSHA (6) has to be respected off a Nagoya second, although the nine-length margin and maiden record keep him more of a solid danger than a standout. CONDUCT O HARAE (2) brings a four-length Kasamatsu win from two starts back, but the latest fifth when beaten over 14 lengths makes the rebound the essential question.

His previous Hakodate run was also well held, finishing 13th and beaten over 14 lengths when unwanted in the market. With no placings from twelve starts overall, he must produce a very different level to trouble these. |
