Genuine tempo from Artie Vainqueur leading Straight Blast. ARTIE VAINQUEUR (12) built on a nice third when fresh from a spell two starts back at Toowoomba with a win as public elect over 1350m at this track two weeks ago, getting home by 2.5 lengths. Will have derived some confidence from that victory and is likely to be in the finish again. CAISHEN (5) showed early speed from a good draw when resuming last start then battled on well for second, beaten 1.75 lengths, over 1310m at Lismore. Gets 2kg off with the claim and has the class to take this out. STRAIGHT BLAST (4) was safely held when fourth last start over 1200m at Beaudesert. That followed a good first-up win at Dalby. Ideally placed and is sure to prove tough to beat despite the sticky draw. I'M NELSON (6) strips fitter second-up from the break and may earn some minor money. SUGGESTED PLAY: Artie Vainqueur to win again.
