SMILE THRIVE (12) brings the most persuasive recent profile, having been beaten a length into second at Kawasaki after winning by two lengths at Urawa the start before. His record with Ryo Novata is a strong supporting point and he looks well placed to hold his form. G T ENGINE (5) resumes after four months and is the classier danger on exposed Urawa figures, with a narrow last-start second following a three-length C1 win here. He did miss as a prohibitive odds-on favourite, so the break is the only real reservation. VALLUMNOS (8) arrives off a Urawa C1 win and has an excellent track-and-distance record, though G T Engine has had her measure earlier this campaign. REBOOT POWER (7) resumes after eight months and must stretch sprint form to 1400m, but his last two efforts were honest enough to keep him in the wider winning mix.
