A solid tempo on the cards with Les Vampires leading the way.
LES VAMPIRES (9) is realising his potential this prep, chalking up another win last start in a BM94 over 1800m at Randwick. Goes to a new level today but with 53kgs and the Waterhouse/Bott spit and polish he can get the job done. TOURISTIC (10) hasn't won for a while but he went close in Ceolwulf's Neville Sellwood two back, missing a place in a four-way thriller. Winning chance on 53kgs if he can recapture that form. HOPEFUL (11) has struggled over longer trips at his last couple, most recently when down the track in the Sydney Cup. Can bob up in this more suitable race at a huge quote. HEZASHOCKA (3) put the writing on the wall when he closed well to get up for second last start in the 2000m JRA Plate at Randwick. Group Two winner when at his best so do not underestimate. NEW ENDEAVOUR (2) has been in the money in a couple of Group Three's recently and is now cherry ripe at the fourth run back from a spell. SUGGESTED PLAY: Les Vampires to win, with savers on Touristic and Hopeful at odds.
