Jain, Spartus and Sonny Daze to battle for the lead at a strong tempo. UNCLE RUSS (3) is resuming from a spell, and he has been a fresh-up winner over this trip in the past on this track. He comes to hand quickly and will only need an ounce of luck off a tricky draw to be very hard to beat here. SHE OURS (10) had a couple of starts last prep near the end of the year in Stakes company and held her own, finishing fourth at her last run at Eagle Farm as favourite on a heavy track. She has plenty of scope and back in this grade with the aid of a 2kg claim, she will also be hard to hold out. SPARTUS (8) seems to be at his best over distances below 1000m. He scooted away to an easy win over 860m at Gatton 11 days ago, and if he can somehow cross from a wide gate here, he could take them all the way again. KRAKARIB (1) is better than his last run suggests, and with the blinkers off, he can bounce back into the money in a field like this. SUGGESTED PLAY: She Ours each way.
