Not a great deal of pressure likely in the small field, with Maravich a potential leader.
SHALZER (5) has been thereabouts over a middle distance in her last 3 starts and meets an even field again over 1890m. She has been placed in all types of track conditions, and with the benefit of a 2kg claim, she can figure in the finish again. MARAVICH (2) has needed his 3 starts back from a spell and should now be ready to show some decent form again. He had some ability earlier in his career in Victoria and is capable of a top 3 finish this time. SAMURAI WARRIOR (1) has been knocking on the door for his first win and was a game runner-up in a 6-horse field here nearly 2 weeks ago. Hard to beat this time. Follow your money. TOY DANDY (7) raced greenly fresh up at Rockhampton and then improved quickly to finish a fair third at Dalby 2 weeks ago. She tries a middle distance for the first time, and is good enough to pick up a maiden win at short notice. FONZIE ROCKS (3) should have finished closer here last time out and will be suited by racing over 1890m. Each way value here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Fonzie Rocks each way.
