Our Girl Scarlett will stride forward but there are few first starters who can keep her busy.
MEET GEORGE (3) had to work to find the front at Doomben fresh up and fought all the way to the finish line to run second by half a length. He strips fitter and in a slightly easier field, he is set to go one better. MISHA QUEEN (8) put in a strong effort for third on debut at the Gold Coast on the only track there. She has the pole position second up and will naturally improve with the experience. Hard to beat. ISTI STAR (7) has been trialling nicely before finishing fourth fresh up in Listed company at Eagle Farm a fortnight ago. She has a better gate this time and will certainly notice the drop in company. Her first win is not far away. HARD AS BROK (1) is making his debut from an astute stable, and having Justin Huxtable in the saddle is a strong lead. CARBONARA (5) finished fifth in the same Stakes race as the third pick, and she too can improve quickly at this level. Each way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Meet George to win.
