Shohei, L'ottobrata and M's will push to ahead and set a solid tempo. TOPPI BORN (9) was in a different class last time out, settling well back before rounding up his rivals to score by 4 lengths over 2000m at Hanshin. Has a formidable combination with Yutaka Take who has been aboard for his last two wins. Should be hard to stop. KING SQUALL (1) was a long way back last start but hit the line well to finish seventh, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 2000m in the G1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) at Nakayama. Was outdashed but got going late and appears suited by the longer journey. Sure to be tough to hold out. M'S (5) maintained his unbeaten record last time, sitting just off the speed before letting down impressively for a 3.5 length win at Chukyo over 2200m. Goes up a notch this time but still one of the main contenders. NEBRA DISK (4) is third up today. Turned in a better run last time when third, beaten 2 lengths, in the G3 Mainichi Hai at Hanshin over 1800m. Looms as a genuine contender.
