Expecting Super Defense to take up the running with Faithful Champion and Kessler close at hand. KESSLER (5) was doing his best work late when resuming from a spell and ran into third place. He can kick up early to hold his spot from the pole position, and should be among the hardest to beat. POINT LOMA (7) ran on late when finishing fourth here 3 weeks ago over 1200m. The extra 100m will suit him, and it is good to see Jarrod Todd keep the faith. Each way. FAITHFUL CHAMPION (3) had a torrid trip at Alice Springs nearly 3 weeks ago and understandably faded out of it late. The blinkers come off for the first time, and he can bounce straight back into the money here. THE STIFMEISTER (4) did not have the best of runs last time out and failed to run on as expected. He is normally thereabouts and is worth another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Point Loma each way.
