Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a keen tempo. COUNTRY BLUES (2) is a former Sydney two start maiden who resumes after over two years off. First run for this yard and returns a gelding. Has been jumping out well and has ability. Can kick off with a big run. ESQUEL (9) ran well to place on debut then started very short and was safely held so was tipped out again. Trialling well and can go close fresh. JENNI BASSETT (10) is a first-starter by sire Wootton Bassett from the stakes-winner Jennifer Lynn. Fitter for two trials. Expected to measure up. NAITANUI (5) is a well-related galloper having his first start. A number of stakes winners in the family including Group 1 winner Campionessa. Won the latest jump-out and can hit the ground running. DON'T SAY NO MIKKI (3) also won the latest jump-out leading up to debut. Trained here and can run a big race fresh. SUGGESTED PLAY: Country Blues can run well fresh.
