Reasonable tempo with Shoken probably leading but a few others should keep him honest. REBELS RULE (2) started favourite when resuming four weeks ago but found one better over 1600m at Kyoto. Scored at his only try at this trip. Expected to go very well. ALENTEJO (5) has put together back-to-back placings, the latest when 1.3 lengths away in third after he was well back on straightening over 1800m at Kyoto. Facing a tougher assignment but he is up to the task. EVOLVING (8) was in the firing line on the bend and finished third last time over 1800m at Tokyo when resuming from a spell, beaten 2.5 lengths. Tackling a deeper field this time but he is good enough to make a big impact. FOUR CANDLES (9) was beaten 3.5 lengths into fourth in a 1800m contest at Kyoto last time out. Better than recent efforts suggest.
