ON THE CHARGE (9) dug deep to hold onto second place fresh up on this track after coming to the end of his run late. He will be having his second start for a new trainer, and with a subtle gear change, he can go one better. LIGHTNING GOLD (2) battled away along the rails when resuming from a spell and finishing sixth. He is likely to be ridden more positively second up from a spell, and is more than capable of producing a top 3 finish this time. KIA ORA KOE (1) set up a strong pace in front and kicked away for a comfortable win here a fortnight ago over 1000m. Now that the penny has dropped, he can take the next step immediately. MAKE YOUR POINT (8) looked likely at the distance peg fresh up on this track 2 weeks ago, and only gave way late when his condition ran out. He strips fitter, and will be among the hardest to beat with the advantage of the pole position. HOT CHATTER (7) needed his fresh-up run for a new trainer and will also slide down in class here.
