The $160,000 Listed Spear Chief Handicap. FUKUBANA (16) got a well-deserved victory at Doomben at the latest effort and will take some confidence from that breakthrough win. Has saluted on all going and gets in on the minimum weight in this contest. Capable of testing his rivals. TRANSATLANTIC (6) is a three-time winner around this circuit and gets Maloney on board to navigate from the carpark draw. Can play a role with any luck in running. TAVS (18) is three from three here at this venue and is drawn perfectly for Jones in gate six. Has to be included in calculations. RISING PACIFIC (12) has won four of his past five starts and has been given a bit of a freshen up for the drop back in trip here. Hard to ignore winning form.
