GOING:

Hollywoodbets GOLD CHALLENGE 1600m

Track: GOOD   Clear (Max: 26)

Good pace from William Robertson, Dave The King and Oriental Charm. DAVE THE KING (2) was super-impressive when winning fresh up over 1500m at Scottsville. He set the pace, found another kick, and won with ease. He won this race last year. He jumps from a good draw of two and should take a power of beating with Callan Murray retaining the ride. SEE IT AGAIN (3) ran a cracker when second in Grade 2 company last time out. He has won three times, finished second once, and third once from as many starts here over this trip. He will strip a much fitter horse today and merits healthy respect. ORIENTAL CHARM (9) returns from a 19-week break after finishing second in Grade 1 company. He might need the run, but is likely to race on the speed, and he cannot be ignored. COSMIC SPEED (5) set the pace in the Grade 2 Guineas last time out and gave a good kick before finishing third. That form has since been franked, and he will be competitive again.
