Moonee Valley   23 Aug 2025

GOING: G(4)

Paramount Liquor Carlyon Stakes 1000m

Track: SOFT 5   Rain (Max: 15)   Rail: Out 5m Entire Circuit.

Midwest and Golden Boom can lead the small field. OAK HILL (5) won dynamically last start, ripping home in the fastest sectionals of the meeting to claim his opposition in a matter of strides. This is a bigger field, and he'll need to round up more horses, but he has the ability to do so. NEW YORK LUSTRE (8) drops back in distance from being beaten in the Bletchingly Stakes last start. She missed the start there, and it all went wrong for her there. She can bounce back at a track and distance she's won well at before. BARAQIEL (2) is an ultra-talented commodity but has had his issues and failed the vet-check before The Bletchingly. At his best, he must be a leading contender, but he is an unknown. GOLDEN BOOM (3) was a close second to Mornington Glory last year in this race and has done nothing to harm his credentials since. MORNINGTON GLORY (1) won this race last year, but didn't exactly turn heads with his first-up run. SUGGESTED PLAY: Oak Hill will be hard to beat
