A strong tempo is assured with the first starters applying pressure to the noted on-pacers Midnight Flyer and Jet Querari. MIDNIGHT FLYER (5) produced a promising debut effort over 1160m on the Standside course last start. He showed good speed before getting outrun late. He would have gained from the experience and should have no issues with the drop to 1000m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he can go one better. JET QUERARI (1) has some good recent form lines to his name. Chad Little is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most. EMPRESS WU (8) has good consistent form lines to her credit. She finished second in her only attempt over this course and distance. Has each-way claims. MIAMI MOUNTAIN (4) is a three-year-old colt facing the starter for the first time. Fresh-up is worth considering.
