Tupoleu, Cheval Savant and Bit Of A Rebel can set the pace. THE GUAVA (5) was good after getting back from a wide gate last start. He gets a much better set-up this time and can settle closer from the good draw. He doesn't win out of turn but looks very well placed here and can be hard to beat. Darryl Dodson has a strong hand in this race via I CATCHEM FOX (2) and BIG SUE (1). I Catchem Fox is still progressing through the ranks and could end up being much handier than this grade. Expect fitness improvement out of his first-up win and the step to 1400m also look suitable. He's versatile and can roll forward or take a sit. Stablemate Big Sue has also been in winning form recently and wasn't far away in a similar race last start. He's drawn to get a soft run behind the speed and is an obvious top three chance. TUPOLEU (7) is better than what he showed last start and can bounce back, while PODARGONI (4) brings some decent Victorian form and the stable must always be respected when they travel horses to SA. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing The Guava and I Catchem Fox each-way.
