A solid tempo on the cards with Montecito leading the way. OTOKOGI AMPAN (6) wound up strongly last time out to finish 1.3 lengths adrift in second over 1600m at this track when coming back from a break. Can go on with it. TERRA MERITA (13) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when second over 1600m at Niigata. Expected to go back from the draw. Finds a suitable race and can figure in the finish. MONTECITO (7) last appeared when fifth over 1400m in Listed grade at Kyoto three-and-a-half months ago. Sure to make his presence felt. ZENDAN HAYABUSA (10) is back after a break of 11 weeks. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 1600m at Kyoto. Yet to win first up but generally runs well with two minor placings from four tries. Looks a strong top-three prospect.
