Plenty of pressure expected over the mile. LA MADDALENA (4) has not finished too far off the winner in her last two starts. She was running on when fourth over 1500m last time out. Apprentice Jacey Botes takes the 2.5kg off her back, and in this field, she can return to winning ways. ULTRA QUICK (1) ran a good race when fourth over 1400m on this course last start. He raced from a handy position and fought on gamely at the finish. He has cracked pole position and should be among the hardest to beat. QUINN'S TIME (5) found betting support in his first run out of the maidens. He has scope, and if jumping on terms, he can feature in the top 3. IRON WILL (7) ran a fair race over 1400m at Greyville last time out. Three of his five career victories have come on this course. He drops back in class and with Brevan Plaatjies in the saddle, he would not be a shock winner.
