Good tempo with several going forward, primarily Jp's Palace, Hodgepodge and Bombers In The Sky. JP'S PALACE (1) ran a good race when third over 1600m at Greyville last time out. He raced wide around the turn, but the manner in which he ran on at the finish that day was encouraging. He won here over this trip, three runs ago. He is having his peak run, and from pole position, he should be the horse to beat. QUEUE WING (2) has good recent form lines to his credit. He cast a shoe in running last time, which did not help his cause. The 8-year-old gelding is an honest type and merits healthy respect. PLUM PUDDING (9) finished a game runner-up last time out when chasing a hat-trick of wins. He is down in weight, and will be hard to hold out again. ROYAL INVITATION (5) finished third against a similar field last time out. She is having her first run for Louis Goosen and must be considered for all combinations.
