Merchant Banker should lead at a strong tempo. OUR AKASHINGA (4) was an effortless winner here just over 5 weeks ago, scoring by over 3 lengths as favourite. She has been kept ticking over with a recent Foxton trial, and from a handy gate, she can take the next step immediately. MERCHANT BANKER (5) still has a bit to learn, and his last couple of starts for second on this course have been full of merit. He is likely to set the pace here, and if he can settle a touch better, then he can take this out. KERETI (2) was placed as an odds-on favourite here fresh up, and then stuck on gamely for fourth at Otaki nearly a month ago. He has had a quiet trial since then, and is in this with a sound each-way chance. Follow your money. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER (1) has been disappointing overall this prep, and is back up to his pet trip of 1200m. His best effort would take him close to winning this, so stick with him. QACENTINA (3) has been steadily improving since his first win here in June. He won't lack fitness, and is worth including. SUGGESTED PLAY: Merchant Banker is capable of winning this.
