KOCHI   20 Sep 2026

GOING:

Race 9 1300m

Track:

Genuine pace with Debug taking up the running ahead of Reward Elaine and The Century. DEBUG (11) clearly brings the strongest winning profile, having resumed with a four-length 3yo+ C3 win at Kochi as a prohibitive odds-on favourite and maintaining an outstanding record at this course and distance. That made it six in a row. Can add to the winning streak. LEMON CHIFFON (8) is harder to trust on her last two runs, including an eighth to I Blanco, but her Kochi record, distance record and strong association with Kondo Shogetsu give her a genuine rebound case. THE CENTURY (4) has to put a last-start failure behind him but a perfect top-three record at this track and distance keep him firmly in calculations. ROYAL DANCE (1) lacks the same winning edge, but he did finish ahead of The Century last time and has a solid record with Taichi Nagamori, making him a chance to play a minor role.

MASAMITSU SAKAI
8YO  BROWN  HORSE 57.0KG
Yuki Owaki
Finished fifth behind Baby Boss at Kochi last start, beaten nine lengths after settling back, which was sound rather than compelling. The run prior in 3yo+ C1 grade was weaker, finishing last behind Adler and beaten over 11 lengths despite being near the top of betting. His record with Taichi Nagamori is a plus, and he did beat The Century last time, so he profiles as a realistic place chance rather than a strong winning play.

TAICHI NAGAMORI
RED, GREEN ARMBANDS, White cap
2 34687 AMMINO LEMON
YOICHI MIYAJI
6YO  CHESTNUT  HORSE 57.0KG

Was safely held again when seventh behind Rhizomatics at Kochi, beaten over 14 lengths at big odds after conceding a huge start. That followed an eighth in 3yo+ COND grade behind Copano Hampton, beaten over 16 lengths when unwanted in the market. He has placed once from twelve tries at this track and distance, but the current form line leaves him needing a marked lift.

MASASHI UEDA
RED, WHITE STAR, WHITE SLEEVES, RED ARMBANDS, Black cap
3 77644 MACHT
Kurakane Ikuyasu
5YO  CHESTNUT  HORSE 57.0KG

Has at least held his ground better than some, finishing fourth behind Baby Boss at Kochi last start, but he was still beaten eight lengths and started at long odds. Two back he was fourth behind Mozu Rickey over 1600m, beaten just over four lengths after failing to finish it off. The career record is respectable, though being unplaced in three Kochi runs leaves a clear query.

SHUJI AKAOKA
WHITE, NAVY RIGHT SASH, NAVY DOUBLE ARMBANDS, Red cap
4 2x110 THE CENTURY
MAMORU TANAKA
4YO  CHESTNUT  GELDING 57.0KG
Koji Yasuhara
Produced a serious below-par run last start when last behind Baby Boss at Kochi, never competitive and beaten out of sight after being near the top of betting. His previous 3yo+ C3 win was much more like it, scoring by half a length from Logan Pass. With one win and three places from four starts at this track and distance, he has the right credentials if that latest run is left behind.

YUTA GOMA
WHITE, BLACK DIAMOND CHECK, WHITE SLEEVES, BLUE ARMBANDS, Blue cap
5 65789 LORD IMMORTAL
HIROKI NISHIYAMA
6YO  BAY  HORSE 57.0KG
Lord Horse Club Co. Ltd.
Dropped out badly when second last behind Baby Boss at Kochi, beaten over 18 lengths after being unwanted in the market. His previous run was no better, finishing second last behind Mozu Rickey over 1600m and beaten over 15 lengths. A prior win at this track and distance gives some historical support, but his present form is too plain to recommend with confidence.
5
SHOJI NISHIMORI
PURPLE , NAVY HALVED , NAVY DIAMOND BAND , WHITE SLEEVES, Yellow cap
6 02549 JOSHO BOBBY
MASAMITSU SAKAI
3YO  BROWN  COLT 57.0KG

Was disappointing when second last behind I Blanco at Kochi, beaten over 11 lengths after being near the top of an open market and offering little late. The previous fourth in 3yo COND grade over 1900m had more merit, albeit beaten seven lengths. His three wins from four starts at this track and distance are the key positive, so he can rebound into the minor money.
6
TAKUYA OKAMURA
ORANGE, GREEN ARMBANDS, Green cap
7 27460 REWARD ELAINE
MASAMITSU SAKAI
4YO  DK B  FILLY 55.0KG

Finished last behind Misterio at Kochi last start, beaten over 19 lengths after dropping out of contention, so that run cannot be dressed up. The start prior was more competitive, sixth behind Meisho Inuwashi over 1600m and beaten five lengths after being overrun late. One win and five places from 20 starts at this track and distance give her a minor-money path if she rebounds.
7
MASAYOSHI YAMASAKI

5YO  DK B  MARE 54.0KG
Hiroo Race Co. Ltd.
Brings a strong Kochi profile despite two plain recent efforts, most recently eighth behind I Blanco and beaten over 11 lengths when near the top of an open market. She was also beaten out of sight by Tesorino two back, so the trust level is not perfect. Still, two wins and four places from eleven starts here, plus a good record with Kondo Shogetsu, make her a genuine winning chance if she finds her better form.
8
KONDO SHOGETSU
PURPLE, PINK ARMBANDS, Orange cap
9 78800 OKEHAMPTON
KAZUTO TAIRA
8YO  BAY  HORSE 57.0KG

Was last behind I Blanco at Kochi, beaten over 17 lengths at big odds after finding nothing when asked. His previous run was also poor, finishing last behind Shishi over 1600m and beaten over 15 lengths when unwanted in the market. He has placed once from four starts at this track and distance, but the recent evidence points to a difficult task.
9
NAOKI KIMURA
RED, BLACK ZIGZAG CHEVRON, RED SLEEVES, BLUE DOUBLE ARMBAND, Orange cap
10 45543 MONCH
YUMA KAWANO
6YO  BAY  HORSE 57.0KG
Hiroshi Hatasa
Worked home evenly for third behind Rhizomatics at Kochi last start, though the beaten margin was still nine lengths and he started at big odds. Two back he was fourth behind Shishi over 1600m, beaten just over five lengths after keeping to the task. The concern is the broader winning record, with just one victory from 61 starts, so he needs more than honest plugging away.

Y's Racing Co. Ltd.
Resumed in the right style at Kochi, winning a 3yo+ C3 by four lengths from Or Du Souverain as a prohibitive odds-on favourite after travelling like the best horse in the race. He had also beaten Calling Me by a length and a half before the break. Six wins from eight starts overall, four from four at this track and distance, and six from six with Minoru Miyagawa make him the clear benchmark again.
