Race 12 1400m Track: |
||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
|
Moderate tempo with Princess Roro leading the way. ARDE TSUYOSHI (6) gets the nod despite plain recent figures, because his latest Saga run was in 3yo+ COND company and the drop into this C3 gives him a chance to turn fair finishing work into a result. NOAH PRESLEY (3) has the stronger Kochi 1400m profile, with two wins and three placings from ten starts at the track and distance, and he beat Don Carlo here a couple of weeks ago. DON CARLO (9) has to rebound from an 11-length defeat, but his prior fifth at Kochi was only just over four lengths away and the return to a winning distance keeps him in play. MARCHEN RISE (2) is harder to sell on the win line after two eighths at big odds, yet her minor record at this track and distance and the class drop give her a place chance if she improves.

CHEMIN DE ROI
MAI MIYAGAWA 6YO DK B HORSE 57.0KG Normandy Thoroughbred Racing Co. Ltd. Finished well held here behind Gran Orca last start when sent out at long odds, and the in-running comment gives no strong excuse beyond working home evenly. The run prior is the more appealing reference, a third in 3yo+ C2 over 1600m at Kochi when beaten four and a half lengths. Proven at the track and trip, but he needs to recover that earlier level to be a genuine place player. |

MARCHEN RISE
TERUYUKI KUNISAWA 4YO GREY FILLY 55.0KG Hiroyuki Yoshioka Was eighth here behind Photosphere last start, beaten over 12 lengths after being in touch and offering little, so there is a clear recent-form query. Her previous eighth behind Or Du Souverain was only fair through the line, though she has placed twice from eight tries at this track and distance. The class drop helps, but the win case still needs a sharper finish. |

NOAH PRESLEY
YUMA KAWANO 4YO BAY HORSE 57.0KG Kimio Sayama Could not make headway when sixth behind Photosphere last start, beaten over 10 lengths, but his Kochi 1400m record gives him a much stronger platform than that margin suggests. Two wins and three placings from ten at this track and distance is the key, and he also beat Don Carlo here a couple of weeks ago. Needs a cleaner finish, but his local profile is hard to ignore. |

EMERAL HAPPY
KAZUTO TAIRA 4YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Tsutomu Takahashi Finished second last behind Photosphere at Kochi last start, beaten over 13 lengths after sitting just off the pace and failing to launch a challenge. That followed a last placing behind Himekamino Itadaki when beaten out of sight. The class drop and past track-and-trip win are positives, but her current form is too flat to recommend strongly. |

NAGISANO JOJO
SHINICHI TANAKA 4YO BAY HORSE 57.0KG Placed behind Liberty Flame here last start, but the ten-length margin and big odds keep that result in perspective. Two back he was beaten over 18 lengths after being miles back and failing to improve, so the recent profile is mixed rather than convincing. Has a solid place record overall and can fill a minor spot, but the winning edge remains the question. |

ARDE TSUYOSHI
Kurakane Ikuyasu 4YO CHESTNUT GELDING 57.0KG Tatsuya Akimoto Worked home fairly without threatening when seventh in a 3yo+ COND at Saga last start, beaten over 12 lengths by Ken Bridge Knight. His previous Kochi run was also only seventh, but the class drop and the return of a rider who has placed on him before give this a more suitable look. Recent form is not sparkling, yet this race gives him his best opening for some time. |

MEINER SANTE
TETSUYA NAGASE 6YO CHESTNUT HORSE 55.0KG Thoroughbred Club Ruffian Co. Ltd. Was unwanted in the market and beaten over 11 lengths behind Dixie Vogue here last start, a backward step after finishing fifth to Snow Cruise when beaten five and a half lengths. The positive is distance strength, with three wins from seven starts at 1400m, but he is unplaced from three at Kochi. On recent evidence he appeals more as a place hope than a win anchor. |

PRINCESS RORO
JOJI TANAKA 4YO BAY FILLY 54.0KG Seishin Densetsu K. Was sixth behind Liberty Flame here last start, beaten over 15 lengths after racing close enough and failing to challenge. The prior ninth behind Token Kumi was also well held, and she remains winless from 22 starts overall. The class drop is noted, but her recent form and 12-month record leave her with plenty to find. |
8 KONDO SHOGETSU |
|
| 9 | 33557 |
DON CARLO
TADAYOSHI HOSOKAWA 6YO CHESTNUT HORSE 57.0KG Hiroo Race Co. Ltd. Gave away too much start and was never in the picture when seventh behind Photosphere here last start, beaten over 11 lengths. His prior fifth behind Or Du Souverain was better, beaten just over four lengths despite being at long odds, and returning to a winning distance is a useful counterpoint. Needs to turn the tables on Noah Presley, but he has enough to rebound. |

IRONSIDES
MASAMITSU SAKAI 7YO CHESTNUT HORSE 57.0KG Found little when ninth behind Debug here last start, beaten over 13 lengths after having his chance to strike. Two back he finished last in 3yo+ C1 company behind Apsara and was again well beaten. His overall record is strong on paper, but he is unplaced in all nine starts over the past 12 months, so recent evidence points to others. |

CITY OF LONDON
HIROKAZU MIYAGAWA 4YO BAY HORSE 57.0KG Godolphin Did not quicken when eighth behind Debug here last start, beaten over 12 lengths and unwanted in the market. His previous run over 1600m was no better, finishing eighth behind Wakino Queen and beaten over 15 lengths. A past track-and-trip win gives him some historical credit, but his current form needs a clear revival. |
11 YUTA GOMA |

DO FORCE
MITOSHI HIGASHIHARA 6YO BAY HORSE 57.0KG Insel Racing Co. Ltd. Finished fifth behind Kaiser Blitz here last start, beaten just over seven lengths at long odds, which was at least more competitive than several in this field. The run prior came in 3yo+ C2 over 1600m, where he led but faded to seventh behind Shishi. His two Kochi 1400m wins keep him on the radar, but current form says he needs more authority late. |
