Expecting Caldwell to take up the running with T M Daitaka and A Shin Sturm close at hand. CALDWELL (7) made it four in a row when she resumed with a narrow success at this track after previously putting three lengths on Burgeon Forth at the same venue. She has been heavily respected in the market in both those wins and her record with Manato Hida is a major plus. T M DAITAKA (1) is the main danger on consistency, coming off a half-length second to Radiant Horse after beating Cosmo Meigetsu here, and his track-and-distance record is the best sustained piece of exposed form in the race. NISHINO LYNDA (8) earned respect with a last-start neck win over Kito Win, though she still has to confirm that improvement after being beaten by T M Daitaka the run prior. A SHIN STURM (5) has twice been close enough recently to warrant inclusion, but his profile reads more as a solid place chance unless he finds a little extra late.

T M DAITAKA
HIROHIDE HIRAYAMA 4YO BAY HORSE 55.0KG Masatsugu Takezono Went within half a length of Radiant Horse at Saga last start, looming and fighting hard after being near the top of betting. The run prior, he beat Cosmo Meigetsu by half a length here, so the current form has real substance. He races handy, is race fit, and four wins with seven placings from 13 starts at this track and distance make him a reliable winning threat again. |

FLAME SWORD
RYUMA KANAGAWA 6YO BROWN GELDING 55.0KG Yuki Hashimoto Finished fifth in a small field at Saga last start, beaten over 12 lengths by Radiant Horse after settling rearward and starting at big odds. His previous run was no better, finishing second last in a COND over 1750m and well held behind Ford Tesoro. The class drop and third-up status help in theory, but the recent margins leave him with plenty to repair. |

MIFUNE
MOTONORI MASHIMA 6YO DK B GELDING 55.0KG Yoshihisa Soejima Was only fair through the line when sixth behind Nishino Lynda at Saga, beaten three and a half lengths at big odds. Two back he ran third in a 3yo+ COND but was still beaten just over six lengths by Radiant Horse. His track-and-distance record and strong record with Shinsuke Ishikawa are positives, yet recent form says he must lift to trouble the main chances. |

KASHINO LUCAS
MITSUNORI KOGA 5YO CHESTNUT HORSE 55.0KG Tsutomu Kashiwagi Conceded a huge start and was never in the race when seventh behind Nishino Lynda at Saga, beaten six and a half lengths at long odds. That followed a failed-to-finish result in a COND, again after being sent around at big odds. He has past winning form, but being unplaced in all eleven starts over the past 12 months makes this a demanding assignment. |

A SHIN STURM
SHINICHI HIGASHI 7YO GREY HORSE 55.0KG Eishindo Co. Ltd. Caught the eye late when fourth behind Nishino Lynda at Saga, beaten just under two lengths after having to make up a lot of ground. He had also finished fourth to T M Daitaka the run before, beaten just over half a length, although he did not finish it off as well as expected. His record with Ren Hasegawa is sound, so he has clear minor-money claims without looking the top seed. |
5 REN HASEGAWA |

A SHIN CHAMBER
KAZUO HAMADA 6YO BROWN HORSE 55.0KG Improved on recent efforts when fifth behind Nishino Lynda at Saga, beaten just over two lengths after looking no hope before finishing strongly. The concern is that his previous start was an eighth to T M Daitaka, beaten five lengths at long odds, and he is unplaced from 18 starts in the past 12 months. He needs another step forward to be more than a fringe hope. |

CALDWELL
SHIZUO OSHIMA 4YO CHESTNUT FILLY 53.0KG Shadai Race Horse Co. Ltd. Returns from a five-week freshening after winning a 3yo+ COND at Saga, beating Oreno Aiba by a neck as an odds-on favourite. She had earlier beaten Burgeon Forth by three lengths at the same grade, showing a sharper turn of foot in a soft win. Two wins and one place from three starts at this track and distance, plus four wins from four with Manato Hida, give her a strong platform. |

NISHINO LYNDA
MOTONORI MASHIMA 4YO BAY FILLY 53.0KG Shigeyuki Nishiyama Lifted third-up to win at Saga last start, beating Kito Win by a neck at long odds on good ground. That was a clear improvement on her prior seventh behind T M Daitaka, where she settled rearward and was beaten three and a half lengths as an outside chance. The Isao Yamaguchi pairing is a strong asset, but she still has to prove the latest result was no one-off. |
