GOING: H(8)

WAITOA HAULAGE MAIDEN 2200m

Track: HEAVY 8     True

Teams should be able to comfortably find the front. TELEOST (2) was in good form at the trials prior to finishing a bold second on debut over 2000m at New Plymouth just over 2 weeks ago. He will naturally improve with the run, and an extra 200m looks to be ideal. He meets a modest field, and is set to go one better. COLGATE (1) has been placed in 2 of his 4 career starts, and gets through bad ground with no problems. He is still on the up this prep, and looks to be an each-way hope again. HILL BILLY (3) got going late when running into third against some of his rivals here in the same race at New Plymouth last time out. If he can lob a couple of pairs closer from another good draw this time, then he could even challenge the top pick. CHICFLIX (8) has been getting fit over 1600m, and she will relish getting up to 2200m for the first time this prep. A heavy track suits her, and a form reversal is on the cards. LADY CHARLTON (9) made up some nice late ground at Matamata 4 days ago, and she should be kept very safe in this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Teleost can win this, and include Lady Charlton at a price.
