Race 9 1400m Track: |
||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
|
Just a moderate tempo headed by Aoi Singulier, O K Grit and Piko Purple. CRACK A SMILE (3) earns top billing after missing by a neck to Crown Presenter here last start, a sharp lift on the earlier 900m run when she was unwanted in betting and beaten just under five lengths. She still has to prove that last-start surge is repeatable, but it is the clearest winning pointer. MEISHO SHUHARI (1) was favourite when only fourth behind Vin Rose last start, though her earlier third behind Bi Silent and barrier one keep her right in calculations. MIKKI SWAN (10) returns off a six-week freshening and brings mixed form, with a fourth here after a Kochi placing over 800m. The margins were wide, but the class drop gives her a chance to rebound. JUN KACHIGARASU (6) has the long maiden record against her, yet her last-start second behind Lightning Run was a step forward.

MEISHO SHUHARI
TORU YAMADA 3YO GREY FILLY 54.0KG Yoshitaka Matsumoto Was sent out favourite here last start and could manage only fourth behind Vin Rose, beaten five lengths after being only fair to the line. Her previous third to Bi Silent was sound enough, albeit beaten seven lengths, and she has placed at both Saga and this distance. Barrier 1 and race fitness help, but she needs to produce more than her latest effort to justify strong support. |

UMA NAMI KAIDO
HIROYUKI YANAI 3YO DK B GELDING 56.0KG Atsushi Ito Improved sharply into second at Saga last start, but the margin was still seven lengths and he started at big odds. That followed a last of eight in a 3yo+ C4 over 1200m at Mombetsu when beaten over 10 lengths after having too much to do. The recent placing is a positive, yet his overall maiden record says he still has a fair bit to prove. |

CRACK A SMILE
HIROSHI NAKANO 3YO BAY FILLY 54.0KG Shadai Race Horse Co. Ltd. Found a much stronger finish here last start when second to Crown Presenter, beaten a neck after starting an outside chance in the betting. That was a clear turnaround from her eighth behind Meisho Ruby over 900m, where she tracked the speed and was beaten just under five lengths. Still a maiden from six starts, but that latest run gives her one of the best winning profiles. |

K TWO KORUUNI
MORIYUKI YORIMOTO 4YO BROWN FILLY 53.0KG Katsumi Kusumoto Charged home from a near-impossible position for third behind Bright Lights at Saga last start, beaten just over half a length despite being at long odds. The concern is that her previous fifth to Neo Diamante was a well-beaten one, beaten over 12 lengths after settling too far back. Her late strength makes her a place player, provided she does not leave herself too much to do. |
4 OMI DAIKI |

PIKO PURPLE
TOSHIMITSU KUNICHI 3YO BAY FILLY 54.0KG BIJOUPIKO Co. Ltd. Has put together consecutive Saga thirds, most recently behind Vin Rose when beaten four lengths after being run down late at big odds. She had earlier placed behind Meisho Ruby over 900m, travelling well before lacking a decisive kick. The matchup is useful, having beaten Meisho Shuhari and Crack A Smile recently, but she still shapes more as a reliable place hope than a winner. |

JUN KACHIGARASU
TAKAYOSHI KAWADA 4YO BLACK FILLY 54.0KG Lifted last start when second to Lightning Run at Saga, beaten six lengths but strong through the closing stages. That was a better effort than her eighth behind Oro Khrysos, where she was at long odds and only worked home evenly. The 25-start maiden record remains the obvious knock, but her current trajectory is positive enough to make her a genuine winning chance. |

AOI SINGULIER
TADAYOSHI IKEDA 3YO BAY FILLY 51.0KG Was fifth behind Vin Rose here last start, beaten seven and a half lengths at long odds, and there was no great flash through the line. The run prior in 3yo COND company was plain, finishing seventh to Willy's Rock and beaten over 17 lengths. She gets in with 51kg and has some light-raced scope, but the distance record and recent margins temper the enthusiasm. |

KITANO VULCAN
HIROHIDE HIRAYAMA 4YO BAY HORSE 56.0KG Naoto Kitajo Has been soundly beaten at his past two starts, finishing eighth to Urban King and then eighth to Meisho Hayase, beaten over 14 lengths and over 13 lengths respectively. Both runs came at Saga, and the market had little interest. He has placed three times from 15 at this track and distance, but current form demands a major turnaround. |
8 LEO NAKAYAMA |
|
| 9 | 50076 |
O K GRIT
TADAYOSHI IKEDA 3YO BAY COLT 56.0KG Ken Ono Kept to the task when sixth behind Explode at Saga last start, beaten four and a half lengths at generous odds. The previous run was more concerning, beaten over 11 lengths as a very short odds-on chance after settling handy and failing to quicken. He remains unplaced from 10 starts, so the place case is there only if the latest run marks a genuine reset. |
9 ISAO YAMAGUCHI |
|
| 10 | 80734 |
MIKKI SWAN
RYUMA KANAGAWA 3YO BAY FILLY 54.0KG Mizuki Noda Returns from a six-week freshening after finishing fourth in a 3yo+ COND at Saga, beaten over 13 lengths at long odds after settling rearward. Before that she was third in a 3yo COND over 800m at Kochi, again well beaten but able to work into the frame. The class drop and distance profile offer a way into this, though she must find more finish to convert the chance. |
10 TAKUTO DEMIZU |
|
| 11 | 33960 |
YLAMAA
AKIMASA IBI 6YO DK B MARE 54.0KG Carrot Farm Co. Ltd. Dropped out to finish last behind Explode here last start, well beaten by 20 lengths after fading late at long odds. Her previous sixth to Variation was also safely held, beaten over 11 lengths when unwanted in the market. She has a long career record with only one win from 69 starts, and even with class relief she needs a sharp form reversal. |
11 TAKU KAWASHIMA |
|
| 12 | 07677 |
RUKO BEAUTY
MORIYUKI YORIMOTO 5YO CHESTNUT MARE 51.0KG Finished seventh behind Urban King at Saga last start, beaten over 12 lengths at big odds, and that followed another seventh behind Meisho Hayase when beaten over 13 lengths. She gets in light again, but is unplaced from 10 starts at this track and distance and has not placed in 19 starts across the past 12 months. Others bring stronger claims. |
12 GOTO MUSASHI |
|
| 13 | 85796 |
WIN GRAFTON
MORIYUKI YORIMOTO 4YO BAY HORSE 56.0KG Win Co. Ltd. Was sixth behind Urban King here last start, beaten over 11 lengths at long odds after having too much ground to make up. The start prior was weaker again, second last to Variation and beaten over 17 lengths. He has placed once from seven at this track and distance, but the 36-start maiden record and recent margins leave him with a steep task. |
13 REN HASEGAWA |

LILY CRYSTAL
SHIZUO OSHIMA 3YO BAY FILLY 54.0KG Takao Doi Returns from a six-week freshening after finishing ninth in a 3yo Maiden over 1800m at Chukyo Dirt, beaten over 11 lengths and unwanted in the market. Her previous 11th in a 3yo Maiden over 1800m at Hanshin Dirt was weaker again, beaten over 15 lengths. She comes back in trip and has a leading rider aboard, but the exposed race form must improve significantly. |
