GOING:

Race 9 820m

Track:

The race lacks early speed so doubt they will go too hard. ANGEL MOMO (2) sets the standard after a much sharper fourth at Sonoda when beaten just over a length and respected near the top of betting. She is likely to settle rearward, so the race shape matters, but the inside draw gives her the chance to conserve ground before producing late. SCENE DE NEIGE (6) is the main danger after tracking the lead and finishing fourth, with the 52kg impost and a previous track-and-distance win adding to her claims. JUNGLE MARISA (7) comes through a third-up profile with a recent placing and can settle closer than Angel Momo, while BAIKAL (9) has strung together two thirds and brings the most reliable place pattern. ARAJAI (1) is an inside-drawn knockout for the minors if the drop back in trip sparks improvement. With limited obvious speed among the selections, position before the turn may be decisive.

Drops back from two plain 1230m runs at Sonoda, the latest when last of eight and beaten just over seven lengths behind A Shin Okikurmi after coming under pressure late. The start prior was weaker again, second last and beaten over 16 lengths by Quattro Fortuna at long odds. The positives are the return to a winning track-and-trip setup and Kenta Sugiura back aboard, so he is more a place hope than a winning anchor.

Improved sharply at Sonoda last start, finishing fourth behind Tiara Azul and beaten just over a length after settling rearward. That was a clear lift on her sixth behind Sky Rise, when she gave away a big start and was only fair late at big odds. Being near the top of betting last time says the market respected the improvement, and her track-and-trip background keeps her right in the winning discussion if she gets clear running.

Had every chance close enough to the speed last start but could manage only sixth behind Tiara Azul, beaten four lengths at big odds. Two back he settled rearward and offered little when eighth behind Vanguarda, beaten nine lengths. A previous track-and-distance win gives him some context, but Angel Momo beat him recently and his current form leaves a fair bit to turn around.

Still a maiden after 25 starts and was unwanted in the market when fifth behind Epic Day at Sonoda, beaten seven and a half lengths after settling back and battling. The run prior was tougher to recommend, finishing second last behind Trance Run and beaten over 14 lengths on good ground. With no placing from 14 starts at this track and distance, she needs a marked form reversal.

Was last behind Tiara Azul at Sonoda four weeks ago, beaten nine and a half lengths after settling well back and failing to make ground. His previous run over 1400m was heavier again, finishing seventh behind A Shin Nirvana and tailed off at big odds. The class drop is only mild support against a 100-start maiden record, so others make considerably stronger appeal.

Took a step in the right direction at Sonoda last start, tracking the lead and finishing fourth behind Promettre, beaten three lengths, despite being unwanted in the market. The prior seventh behind Win View was just fair after settling handy. She has a win from nine starts at this track and distance and carries only 52kg, which gives her a solid platform in a race lacking depth beyond the main chances.

Arrives third-up after a sound third at Sonoda, where she settled prominently and worked home evenly behind Hokuzan Chouchou, beaten just under six lengths. Her resuming run had merit too, picking up nicely from midfield when fifth behind Gambaru Futoshi at big odds. With one win and one place from four starts at this track and distance, she has enough profile to challenge if she holds a closer spot.

Comes back from C2 form, but the recent evidence is still only fair. She was eighth behind Nishino Mignonne at Sonoda last start, beaten four and a half lengths at long odds after racing just off the lead and battling home. Two back over 1230m she led before dropping out sharply behind High Life. The class drop helps, but she remains unplaced at both this track and the distance.

Has put two solid Sonoda thirds together, most recently behind Nishino Galante when beaten just over four lengths after tracking the lead and passing tired runners late. She had also been third behind Trance Run, beaten just over three lengths at long odds, so the consistency is genuine. A 12-win record and good recent place rate with Nambu Fuma make her a reliable minor-money contender, even if winning looks tougher.

Drops from C2 grade with weight relief, but the form turnaround required is significant. She was second last behind Fairy Taizan at Sonoda last start, beaten over 12 lengths after settling rearward and making no ground. Before that she was last over 1400m behind Kurino Enishi and beaten out of sight. Her overall record is modest and she needs a much sharper effort to trouble these.
