KASAMATSU   11 Sep 2026

GOING:

Race 9 1900m

Track:

Solid tempo expected primarily from Katsutenai Oishisa and Toshikun. KATSUTENAI OISHISA (4) sets the benchmark on winning habit, with nine wins and one place from ten starts overall and two wins from two at 1900m. He is new to Kasamatsu, but the distance record and recent Kochi wins give him the strongest profile. MICHAEL (9) is the immediate threat after leading throughout for a five-length first-up win here, though this trip is the new test. YOSARI (5) resumes with an excellent Kasamatsu record and should be handy enough from the on-pace group, while GOKOKUHOJO (8) has the closing style to be dangerous if the leaders overdo it. TSUMAMIGUI (1) is in form after a four-length win here, but also has to prove himself at 1900m.

YUKIYASU KATO
3YO  BAY  COLT 57.0KG

Produced a sharp last-start win at Kasamatsu over 1400m, coming from a difficult position to beat Fleur De Lune by four lengths. The start prior, he was third behind Michael here, beaten just under six lengths after being unwanted in the market. His current form is sound and barrier one helps the map, but 1900m is still a genuine query. A place result looks well within reach if he runs the trip.

2 3326x CATTLEYA NOCTURNE
Akiko Okita
3YO  BAY  FILLY 55.0KG

Returns from a three-month break after finishing sixth at Kawasaki over 2100m, beaten over 15 lengths behind Pendant, when she conceded a huge start and was never in the race at big odds. Her Kasamatsu second two back reads better, although she was beaten six lengths as favourite. The class drop is some help, but she resumes needing a much more competitive effort.

JUNKI MOCHIZUKI
SKY BLUE, YELLOW DIAMOND BAND,SKY BLUE SLEEVES, YELLOW DOUBLE ARMBANDS, Black cap
3 1151x TOSHIKUN
ISHIBASHI MITSURU
3YO  BAY  COLT 57.0KG

Returns from a four-month break off a Sonoda win over 1700m, where he was near the top of betting and beat Bellagio Sonic by two and a half lengths. That was a clear rebound from his previous fifth behind God Fencer, when beaten over 13 lengths from a rearward position. His overall strike-rate is appealing, but 1900m remains the key test. He can be competitive without being risk-free.
3
SAKITO YAMAMOTO
GREEN, LIGHT PINK RIGHT SASH, WHITE SLEEVES, Red cap
4 11111 KATSUTENAI OISHISA
MASAMITSU SAKAI
3YO  BAY  COLT 57.0KG

Returns from a five-week freshening in excellent form, having won again at Kochi when a dominant favourite at a very short odds-on quote, beating Tosano Shujinko by just under a length after leading and finding enough. He had also led and won by a length and a half there the run prior. With nine wins and one place from ten starts overall, plus two wins from two at 1900m, he is the one they must beat despite the first Kasamatsu look.

TAKUYA OKAMURA
ORANGE, GREEN ARMBANDS, Blue cap
5 3925x YOSARI
HIROSHI SASANO
3YO  CHESTNUT  COLT 57.0KG
Yuki Ishikawa
Returns from a three-month break with a strong Kasamatsu platform, having won four and placed two from seven starts here. He was fifth over 1400m last time, beaten just over four lengths by Bellagio Sonic after battling on, and had been second to Earth Judge here before that. The rise to 1900m is the main question, but his track record and strong rider-horse combination make him a serious winning chance if he stays.

TATSUYA WATANABE
BLUE, GREEN VEE, BLUE SLEEVES, WHITE STRIPE, WHITE ARMBANDS, CUFF, Yellow cap
6 9x874 COMBAT CAP
HIROSHI SASANO
3YO  DK B  COLT 57.0KG

Finished fourth at Kasamatsu over 1400m last start but was beaten just over nine lengths by Real Kenchan and again unwanted in the market. That followed a seventh here, beaten over 19 lengths behind Aristocrat, after settling back and failing to make an impact. He is race fit and has won here before, but the recent margins leave him with a sizeable form gap to close.

IGUCHI YUKI

7 53456 AMERICAN VICKY
T TAGUCHI
3YO  BAY  FILLY 55.0KG

Settled a long way back when sixth behind Michael at Kasamatsu last start, beaten just over eight lengths despite making some late ground. The start prior was similar in outcome, finishing fifth behind Picasso Jasper and again beaten just over eight lengths. She has a Kasamatsu win on the record, but the step up in trip and repeated beaten margins mean she must improve sharply.
7
KATSUTO MARUNO
RED,MEDIUM BLUE RIGHT SASH, BLUE CAP
8 3521x GOKOKUHOJO
HIROYUKI IMAZU
3YO  BAY  FILLY 55.0KG

Returns from a three-month break after a strong Kanazawa win over 1500m, making sustained ground to beat Passion Beat by four lengths despite starting among the outsiders. Her Nagoya second over 1700m before that also has merit, beaten four lengths by Curren Show after working into the race and fighting on. The 1900m is new territory, but the form pattern gives her a genuine winning case if she settles close enough.
8
SEIGO TSUKAMOTO
YELLOW, RED VEE, Green cap
9 921x1 MICHAEL
YOSHINAGA OHASHI
3YO  CHESTNUT  FILLY 55.0KG

Made a decisive second-up platform by winning fresh at Kasamatsu over 1400m, leading throughout as odds-on favourite and beating Muscat Oman by five lengths. Her previous run was also a clear 1400m win here in 3yo+ C4 company, scoring by three lengths after strong market support. Five wins and six places from 19 starts at this track is a solid base, though 1900m is the fresh challenge she must answer.
9
HIROSHI OHARA
DARK BLUE, FIREBRICK SIX SPOTS, ARMBANDS, Orange cap
10 36280 A SHIN REFINE
HIROSHI SASANO
3YO  CHESTNUT  FILLY 55.0KG
Katsuhiko Hirai
Finished last at Chukyo in a 3yo+ ALLOW last start, well beaten by 23 lengths behind Cervara after settling a long way back and failing to improve at long odds. She had also been beaten over 11 lengths at Morioka the run prior when unwanted in the market. Her Kasamatsu record is better than the recent form, but she needs a major turnaround to be competitive.
10
TSUTSUI YUSUKE
RED, BLACK SLEEVES, WHITE STARS, Orange cap
11 28648 WHITE RABBIT
YUYA GOTO
3YO  GREY  FILLY 55.0KG

Was second last behind Michael at Kasamatsu over 1400m last start, beaten over 16 lengths after settling back and failing to come into the race. Her previous fourth over 1580m here was more respectable, beaten six and a half lengths after working home well, but she has not placed in one try at this distance. Others bring stronger recent credentials.
11
MYOJO HARU DAI
BLACK, GOLD FIVE STARS, GOLD SLEEVES, BLACK ARMBANDS, Pink cap
12 616x5 KAWATEN BACCHUS
T TSUNODA
3YO  DK B  COLT 57.0KG

Resumed with a fifth at Nagoya, beaten nine lengths by Handful after having the task in front of him but continuing on fairly. The previous run was much weaker, finishing sixth over 2100m at Nagoya and beaten a long way by Astra Bianco. His overall and jockey-horse records are sound, yet the distance query and recent margins make this a demanding assignment.
