Strong pace from Kawakita Hoku Lea and Poison Polestar matching motors with Valar close at hand. HO O SAMRET (2) didn't do a bad job when second last start after being in contention on the bend over 1230m at this track, beaten only a nose. That followed a win here the start prior. Yet to miss the placings in two starts over this course and distance and he is capable of running a bold race. PREDESTINARE (8) returns from a break of four-and-a-half months. Consistent performer last prep whose most recent appearance resulted in a win over 1400m at this circuit. Nicely placed to kick off another successful campaign. KAWAKITA HOKU LEA (3) showed good early dash last time out and led for most of the way before being claimed and finishing a head away in second over 1400m at this venue. Top-three hope. VALAR (7) turned in a fine effort to win by a head at this course and distance last start in a much improved run. Looks well placed so expect another big run.
