Plenty of pace evident with Lovushka and Masahaya Mauve leading the way from Nihonpiro Vesper and Jour Se Leve. LOVUSHKA (8) gets the nod in a competitive C5 over 1400m, bringing two recent fourths at Kasamatsu and a reliable track-and-distance profile. He was beaten just over three lengths behind Ric Noir last start after looming without quite finishing it off, which reads well enough for this. MASAHAYA MAUVE (5) is the main danger: his latest Nagoya sixth was below his prior win, but that four-length C8 success showed he can dominate when allowed to roll. NIHONPIRO VESPER (3) comes through a narrow second to Bravo Kirishima and is third-up with strong local 1400m credentials, though the big defeat two back keeps her just behind the top pair. RARIA (6) appeals as a place player after an eye-catching fifth at big odds, while MBURI MUGOBOKA (7) needs to rebound from a plain seventh but has minor-money claims on her prior third.

The run prior was much weaker when second last in a 3yo+ C1, beaten over 19 lengths by Bijin Hakumei. Her track-and-distance record offers some support, but she needs to find considerably more under race pressure. |

KYOICHI ITO 4YO BAY HORSE 57.0KG Hiroshi Yamada Was last at Kasamatsu a fortnight ago, beaten over 12 lengths by Ric Noir after settling well back and never threatening. His previous fifth over 1580m behind Pep Talk was also safely held, and the overall record remains winless from 22 starts. A class drop gives him some help, but the recent form and lack of winning habit leave him with a sizeable task. |

HIROYOSHI KAWASHIMA 4YO BROWN FILLY 55.0KG Went very close at Kasamatsu three weeks ago, finishing second in a 3yo+ C7 and beaten a neck by Bravo Kirishima after looming and fighting hard. That was a strong turnaround from a C1 failure when last and well beaten by 22 lengths, so the latest run is clearly the better guide. Third-up and proven at this track and distance, she has a solid winning case if she holds that form. |

Two back he was seventh, beaten over 14 lengths by Cosmo Finesse, so the recent level is only fair. He does have two track-and-distance wins and a useful jockey record, but others bring sharper form. |

Was below his best at Nagoya last start when sixth, beaten just over seven lengths by Namura Fixer, after holding a narrow lead and being swamped. The run before was far stronger, winning a 3yo+ C8 by four lengths from Meisho Isshin as a very short odds-on favourite. He is having his first look at Kasamatsu and has a distance query, but his recent-season form keeps him right in the race. |

Her previous fifth in a 3yo+ C7 over 1580m was less compelling, beaten ten lengths after settling rearward. The winning strike-rate is modest, but this looks a suitable race for her to press for minor money. |

She has placed five times from twelve rides with this jockey, so a minor placing is possible if she settles closer. |

With a strong track-and-distance base and tactical speed, he looks the most dependable winning option. |
