Solid tempo set by Oaken and Crowd Noise. WAKINO NOBLE (7) sets the standard after successive Sonoda wins, most recently beating Last Duel by a length and a half over this trip after settling back. She is drawn wider than ideal, but the current form is the cleanest in the race and her 1230m record reads well. CROWD NOISE (1) resumes from a four-month break and has a far stronger Sonoda 1230m profile than his latest ninth suggests, though he must rebound from two plain efforts. OAKEN (3) improved sharply last week when fourth to Ankoro after leading, and he maps to be prominent again. ENTELECHEIA (5) has been below his best but can use early speed and the rise from 1000m is a point in his favour. DRAGON GOKU (6) needs to lift on recent margins, yet the return to a winning distance and Wataru Hirose back aboard keep him in the place mix.

That was a clear turnaround from his tenth to Sail On Sailor two back, when beaten over 13 lengths at long odds. He had been a disappointing sixth at Kawasaki over 900m when near the top of betting. She had also beaten High Love Song by a head at big odds the run prior, showing the form was no one-off.
