GOING: S

Race 7 1500m

Track: SOFT     True

Strong tempo with Black Lizard, Murimurikatatumuri and Ginger Hope leading the way. MURIMURIKATATUMURI (7) sets the standard after turning a short quote into a six-length Kawasaki win, and the way he quickened from a slim advantage suggests he has more to offer third-up. EWALD (5) is the reliable danger, placed in all three starts and close enough behind Lauro Campione and Black Lizard to demand respect, though he still has to convert those placings into a win. BLACK LIZARD (2) returns from a two-month break after leading throughout to beat Ewald here and maps to be prominent again from barrier two. SIENA SHANGRILA (6) won last start and adds further pressure near the speed, while GINGER HOPE (4) has a prior Kawasaki win but must rebound from a plain latest run.
1 2444 YAMATO RYU TAN
HIROMI YAMAZAKI
2YO  CHESTNUT  COLT 54.0KG

Finished fourth at Kawasaki last start, beaten just under six lengths by Lauro Campione, and was only fair to the line after being near the top of an open market. His previous fourth behind Gold Carrera was similar, tracking the speed before failing to finish it off. With no win from four starts and a distance query still attached, he needs sharper late work to threaten the main chances.
1
HIROTO ITO
GREEN, WHITE DOUBLE BAND, MEDIUM BLUE SLEEVES, WHITE ARMBANDS, White cap
2 31 BLACK LIZARD
KENICHI TAKATSUKI
2YO  BAY  COLT 54.0KG

Returns from a two-month break after leading throughout at Kawasaki and beating Ewald by a neck when near the top of betting. That gave him a win and a placing from two starts, with his only run at this distance also a success. The debut third as favourite was plain enough, beaten eight lengths by Sorani Negaio, but he improved quickly and should again take catching from barrier two.
2
WADA JOJI
RED,WHITE ZIGZAG CHEVRON,PURPLE SLEEVES, Black cap
3 5379 ZUTTO ORENO TURN
SHIGENORI ITO
2YO  BROWN  COLT 53.0KG

Safely held at Funabashi last start when ninth, beaten over 17 lengths by Buridaikon, after settling handy and offering little in the straight. The run prior over 1200m was also well short of the mark, beaten over 12 lengths by Mandela Effect at generous odds. A class drop helps on paper, but recent form says he has plenty to turn around.
3
HARUTO NAKAYAMA
WHITE, NAVY BAND, SLEEVES, WHITE HOOPS, Red cap
4 517 GINGER HOPE
SATOSHI KODA
2YO  DK B  COLT 54.0KG

Had no clear answer at Kawasaki last start when seventh, beaten over 15 lengths by Lauro Campione, and the market gave him little respect. His start prior was much better, making the running and beating Shumputaito by a length and a half with something in hand. The winning rider is back, but he must prove the latest run was an exception to remain a genuine place hope.
4
KOSUKE SAKURAI
YELLOW, Blue cap
5 223 EWALD
KATSUYOSHI UCHIDA
2YO  CHESTNUT  COLT 54.0KG

Worked home well for third at Kawasaki last start, beaten just under two lengths by Lauro Campione after again being prominent in the betting. He had earlier gone down by a neck to Black Lizard as an odds-on favourite, so the head-to-head is a real reference point. Placed in all three starts and effective at the distance, he is a strong winning chance if he finds a touch more.
5
TAKAYUKI YANO
WHITE, RED DIAMONDS, GREEN SLEEVES, Yellow cap
6 661 SIENA SHANGRILA
HIROMI YAMAZAKI
2YO  CHESTNUT  COLT 54.0KG

Bounced back sharply at Kawasaki last start, picking up well and arriving in time to beat Clarus Mind by just under a length after being near the top of an open market. That was a big turnaround from his prior last behind Dragon Light, where he was in the right spot but beaten a long way. The latest win earns respect, though the mixed profile keeps him more in the place range.
6
NIIHARA SHUMA
BLUE, GREEN ZIGZAG CHEVRON, SLEEVES, YELLOW ARMBANDS, Green cap
7 31 MURIMURIKATATUMURI
HIRONORI SATO
2YO  DK B  COLT 54.0KG

Dominated at Kawasaki last start, winning by six lengths from Pamir as a very short odds-on favourite and doing it with plenty in hand after holding a slim advantage. That was a strong response to his debut third behind Champion Wolf, where he battled on at longer odds and was beaten nine and a half lengths. Third-up now with a win and placing from two starts here, he looks the runner to beat.
7
RYO NOVATA
RED, WHITE RIGHT SASH, RED SLEEVES, WHITE STARS, Orange cap
