Not a great deal of pressure likely in the small field, with Season In The Sun a potential leader. KITANO KOSEI (3) sets the standard in a race where few arrive with a clean winning profile. He has placed in both Kasamatsu runs, was respected in betting first-up, and the 1400m looks suitable again, though he will need to close from off the pace. VILLA LOBOS (6) is the obvious danger if she can forgive the last-start failure as odds-on favourite; her second to Reynolds Number two runs back is good enough for this. DAN STONE CHEERS (1) has the inside draw and a rider who has placed on her before, but her recent margins make her a risky winning proposition. SEASON IN THE SUN (4) should be the main speed influence and has recent head-to-head claims after beating Kitano Kosei and Villa Lobos last time. SATSUKI MERMAID (5) will be running on if the tempo allows, but she gives away a star and the race shape looks steady rather than high-pressure.

TAKASHI SHIBATA 3YO CHESTNUT FILLY 55.0KG Has to turn around two poor Kasamatsu runs, the latest when last behind Topaz Tesoro after being unwanted in the market and weak through the line. The start prior was also last, beaten over 16 lengths by Kokorono Hikoboshi, so there is no recent excuse to lean on. The class drop and Shin Higashikawa returning help, with four placings from eleven together, but she must lift sharply to justify support. |

Improved enough second-up when fourth at Kasamatsu, but she was still beaten just over eight lengths after looming and failing to go on with it. Her previous run at Nakayama in a 3yo F Maiden over 2000m was a heavy defeat at big odds, and the overall record of ten starts without a place is hard to ignore. The class drop gives her some hope of a minor cheque, not a strong winning case. |

His previous run here was also a third, only two and a half lengths from Meisho Luke after being run down late, which reads well for this field. With two placings from two starts at the track and the distance suiting, he looks a genuine winning chance if he settles close enough. |

The recent matchup is in her favour over Kitano Kosei and Villa Lobos, but the distance query keeps her more to the place line. |

The class drop and race fitness are small positives, but she needs a sizeable performance lift to trouble the main chances. |
