KASAMATSU   11 Sep 2026

GOING:

Race 6 1400m

Track:

Not much early speed on paper and Drawing is the most likely leader. ELMY (6) sets the standard after improving sharply at Kasamatsu last start, finishing second to Tureis despite being beaten four lengths as a very short odds-on favourite. That defeat is the query, but third-up and back in this company she still brings the clearest winning profile. SYMPOSION (3) is the immediate danger after a solid third behind Kataphraktos, with his prior Niigata Dirt failure easier to set aside in this line-up. SHIJIMINO HINAKO (2) has to rebound from a heavy defeat, though her earlier Kasamatsu fourth and track-and-distance placings keep her in the mix. FOSSETTES SIENNE (5) comes through an 800m second and needs to prove the rise in trip, while DRAWING (7) is better treated at the weights but must recover from dropping out sharply last time.

Improved sharply when second at Kasamatsu last start, beaten three lengths by Kataphraktos after settling rearward and starting at generous odds. That was a much better effort than her Fukushima Dirt run over 1700m, where she was well beaten by 23 lengths in a 3yo Maiden after dropping out. The latest placing gives her some hope, but she still needs to show it was no one-off.

Had no impact when seventh at Kasamatsu last start, beaten over 20 lengths by Dolls after conceding a huge start and being unwanted in the market. Her previous fourth behind Go Legend was far more competitive, and she has placed two times from four starts at this track and distance. The distance remains a query, but a return to that earlier Kasamatsu form puts her right in the race.

Lifted back at Kasamatsu when third to Kataphraktos, beaten three and a half lengths after looming and fighting on without seriously threatening. That was a sizeable improvement on his Niigata Dirt 3yo Maiden failure, where he started at long odds and faded late behind Cheri Adore. With Tatsuya Watanabe back aboard for a strong local stable, he looks a major player if the 1400m is within range.

Returns from a one-month freshening after finishing third at Kasamatsu, though the margin tells the story as she was tailed off behind Ocea Fairmont. The run prior at Tokyo Dirt was also plain, beaten over 17 lengths in a 3yo Maiden after giving away a big start. Third-up and back for a leading stable are minor positives, but she needs a far sharper competitive response.

Worked into better form when second over 800m at Kasamatsu last start, beaten four lengths by Beast Wars at long odds after travelling well to the turn. The concern is the step back to 1400m, where her record reads unplaced in two attempts, and she was beaten a long way here two runs ago. She has minor-money claims if she carries that sharper 800m effort over the longer trip.

Returns from a one-month freshening after a solid Kasamatsu second to Tureis, beaten four lengths when heavily supported into very short odds-on territory. She was right in the race and kept finding, which was a better fit than her Fukushima Dirt 3yo Maiden run over 1700m behind Saimon Sereno. The beaten-favourite tag must be respected, but third-up with strong recent and distance ratings makes her the runner to beat.

Returns from a one-month freshening after a disappointing Kasamatsu run, finishing a distant last behind Go Legend despite being near the top of an open market and having the right run. Two back she was third to Tosen Sigiriya at big odds, albeit in a small field and only battled on. The 52kg helps, but she needs to rediscover that prior level to press for a placing.
