GOING:

Race 5 1400m

Track:

The pace looks strong from the outset. NAMURA BUNCHY (1) resumes as the key runner, bringing stronger 3yo+ C1 form into a 3yo C2 after finishing fifth here when beaten just over two lengths as a well-supported favourite. BESUPOJI (7) is the main race-fit threat, third-up now and coming off a second to Chopasni despite being unwanted in the market, with an excellent Sonoda 1400m profile. MIRACLE ACE (5) maps handily and has been close in both recent runs, though his one win from 24 starts keeps the price important. COSMO TAISHI (8) is honest and should be on pace again, while HIGH RESILIENCE (3) has back-to-back seconds and adds depth to the exotics.
1 5125x NAMURA BUNCHY
ISAO NAGAKURA
5YO  CHESTNUT  HORSE 57.0KG
Mutsuhiro Namura
Returns from a lengthy spell after finishing fifth in a 3yo+ C1 at Sonoda, beaten just over two lengths as a well-supported favourite behind Spriggan. The start prior was a sound second to Bellagio Gulf, also in 3yo+ C1 grade, when he worked home evenly. Proven at this track and distance and reunited with Tomohiro Yoshimura, he has the class profile to take beating if forward enough.

TOMOHIRO YOSHIMURA
BLACK, RED SLEEVES, White cap
2 87998 SUKEDACHI MUYO
NAOYUKI MIYAKE
3YO  CHESTNUT  COLT 56.0KG
Mitsuhiro Fukuda
Finished well held over 1230m at Sonoda last start after getting well back and failing to improve, while unwanted in the market. His Nagoya run prior was no better, ninth and beaten over 19 lengths at long odds behind Aulani. The class drop is some help, but he is still a maiden after 13 starts and the rise to 1400m adds another concern.

SOTA HIJIKATA
BLUE, SKY BLUE DIAMOND CHECKS, WHITE SLEEVES, BLUE ARMBANDS, Black cap
3 79122 HIGH RESILIENCE
KOJI OBAYASHI
8YO  BAY  HORSE 57.0KG
Big Red Farm
Has produced two steady seconds at Sonoda, each time beaten three lengths in 3yo+ C2 company and respected in open markets. Last start he was close enough to win but could not improve behind Rikea Couscous, while the run prior had a similar shape behind Momo Royal. His season record is solid, though the distance query keeps him more in the place mix than as a clear top pick.
3
WATARU HIROSE
WHITE, RED HALVES, RED DIAMOND BAND, RED SLEEVES, WHITE ARMBANDS, Red cap
4 14732 UKRAINE EYES
HIROAKI WATASE
7YO  DK B  MARE 55.0KG

Placed at her past two Sonoda runs, but the margins tell the story: beaten six lengths by J Pack last start and five and a half lengths by Daigo Ryujin two back. She was at double-figure odds both times and did not quicken when the race lifted. Her track-and-trip record is useful, yet she needs to find more than recent minor money form shows.

TAKANORI NAGAI
PINK , BLACK HALVES, BLACK DIAMOND BAND , BLACK SLEEVES , PINK ARMBANDS, Blue cap
5 34524 MIRACLE ACE
ISAO NAGAKURA
4YO  CHESTNUT  HORSE 57.0KG

Returns from a two-month freshening after a close fourth at Sonoda, beaten just over a length by Aura Exert after tracking the speed and battling on fairly. He had earlier closed nicely for second behind Matenro Time, so the recent form is genuine. The issue is converting chances, with one win from 24 starts, but he maps to be prominent and should again give supporters a sight.
5
TATSUYA TAKEMURA
NAVY, MAGENTA ZIGZAG CHEVRON, NAVY SLEEVES, MAGENTA CHEVRON, Yellow cap
6 72821 RESPLENDOR
AKIHIRO INADA
6YO  GREY  MARE 55.0KG

Led throughout at Sonoda last start and beat Iromegane by half a length as an outside chance in the betting. That followed a narrow second over 820m when tracking the lead, so her current form is sound. She is well exposed but owns three wins and eleven places from 33 starts at this track and distance, leaving her a pace factor who needs to repeat the latest effort.
6
TEPPEI KOTANI
SKY BLUE, RED STRIPES, SKY BLUE SLEVEES, RED ARMBANDS, Green cap
7 55x62 BESUPOJI
NORIO TANAKA
5YO  BAY  HORSE 57.0KG

Improved sharply second-up when second to Chopasni at Sonoda, beaten just under two lengths after working home evenly despite being unwanted in the market. His first-up sixth was better than the bare result, as he had the task ahead and kept coming. Third-up now, with four wins and six places from 15 starts at this track and distance, he is a serious winning chance.
7
F KOMAKI
GREEN, RED ZIGZAG CHEVRON, SLEEVES, Orange cap
8 12433 COSMO TAISHI
HIROKI MINAMI
9YO  CHESTNUT  HORSE 57.0KG
Shigeyuki Okada
Continues to race honestly, finishing third at Sonoda last start when beaten just over four lengths behind Eifer Idol after working home evenly. He had also been third behind Io Sea One two back, beaten just over three lengths from an outside chance profile. The wide draw is not ideal, but his consistency keeps him in the minor-money conversation.
8
OSAMU SHIMOHARA
PURPLE, WHITE DIAMOND BAND, PURPLE SLEEVES, WHITE DIAMOND, Pink cap
