Expecting Taranaki Nomad to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. CRIMSON FLAME (6) came home strongly last start to finish second, beaten 0.9 lengths, over 1600m at this track on debut. Sure to go well again. TARANAKI NOMAD (7) missed the placings on debut two runs back then didn't feature last start when 6 lengths away in seventh over 1600m at Scottsville after being prominent at the turn. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. CALI BULLET (8) is a 13-start maiden who could only manage to finish fourth at her latest appearance over 2000m at Greyville. Among the chances in what looks a nice race for her. SCOTT'S BAR (1) was out of the money two runs back when fresh from a spell then again missed the frame last start over 1600m at Scottsville, beaten 5 lengths into fifth. Nicely placed to find some form.
