Race 3 1230m Track: |
||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
|
Despite the small field Siena Grace, Mo Mo Shine and Wada Katsu can set a decent tempo. SIENA GRACE (3) sets the standard after leading and opening up to beat Civic Tarumain over 820m at Sonoda, and that form is the clearest winning reference despite the rise to 1230m. CIVIC TARUMAIN (6) has the obvious rematch case after improving sharply into second there, though he still has to turn the tables on a filly who had his measure. MO MO SHINE (4) brings the most consistent profile, with three placings from as many starts, and the return from 1400m may help if she can use her early pace without being softened up. TRACEUR (7) is more of a place-shaped danger coming back in trip after two 1400m runs, while WADA KATSU (1) can be positive from the inside and has a debut second to keep him in calculations.

WADA KATSU
TOMOYOSHI TAKAMOTO 2YO CHESTNUT COLT 56.0KG Showed early speed on debut when second over 820m at Sonoda, beaten three lengths by One Noel after leading to the turn. He was then fourth behind Le Jouet at the same course and trip, beaten eight and a half lengths after sitting behind the leaders at long odds. Barrier one helps him hold a position, but the rise to 1230m is the obvious test and he profiles as a place hope rather than a firm winning choice. |

SAMASAMA
KAZUHIRO CHONAN 2YO CHESTNUT COLT 56.0KG Was well beaten when fifth over 1400m at Sonoda last start, settling handy but failing to quicken behind Bhadra after starting at long odds. The run prior was better, finishing second to Mo Mo Impact in a small field, beaten four lengths. Class relief gives him some setup help, but he was also behind Mo Mo Shine recently and needs a sharper closing effort. |

SIENA GRACE
HIROYUKI YAMAGUCHI 2YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Made strong progress at her second start, leading to the turn and opening up to win over 820m at Sonoda by just under two lengths from Civic Tarumain. She was a dominant favourite at very short odds there, which adds confidence to the form. Her debut fourth behind Brave Ten showed she was still learning to finish off, so the rise to 1230m remains the main query, but she brings the best winning profile. |

MO MO SHINE
HIROKI MINAMI 2YO DK B FILLY 55.0KG Has placed in all three starts at Sonoda, most recently second over 1400m when beaten seven lengths by Bhadra after being close enough but battling into the minor money. Two back she was third to Microphone, again safely held but honest. The return to 1230m is a new challenge, yet her consistency and the presence of Tomohiro Yoshimura keep her in the main chances. |

TORIO PARTY
IKKOO TANAKA 2YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Placed on debut at Sonoda over 820m, finishing third behind Copano Jamaica after travelling well to the turn and working home only fairly. She was an outside chance in betting, so the market did not miss her completely, and she should take race experience from it. Even so, the move to 1230m asks a new question and she needs a stronger finish to trouble the main chances. |

CIVIC TARUMAIN
MOTOHIRO KOMA 2YO DK B COLT 56.0KG Improved sharply second-up when runner-up to Siena Grace over 820m at Sonoda, beaten just under two lengths after settling rearward and travelling well to the turn. His debut fifth behind Brave Ten was much plainer, beaten seven lengths at long odds, so the upward curve is clear. He has to overturn the recent result and handle 1230m, but he is a genuine winning danger if that progress continues. |

TRACEUR
SHINICHIRO SAIKA 2YO CHESTNUT FILLY 55.0KG Was last of five at Sonoda over 1400m last start, beaten seven and a half lengths by Tanomude Tsuyoshi after settling rearward as an outside chance in betting. Her debut third behind Charming Night was more encouraging, working home evenly and beaten just over five lengths. Coming back to 1230m is a query, but F Komaki back aboard gives her some place appeal. |

CHO CHAMPION
MAKOTO ORITA 2YO BAY COLT 56.0KG Takao Maruyama Was tailed off over 820m at Sonoda last start, finishing last behind Le Jouet after being well back at the turn and making no impression. His debut in a 2yo NEWCOMER at Kokura was also poor, finishing second last and well beaten by 26 lengths behind Bluechip. Class relief is noted, but he has been unwanted in both markets and needs a major turnaround. |
