Race 12 2000m Track: SOFT True |
||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
|
Genuine pace with Valentine Gift taking up the running ahead of Oken Duke and Flugel Ku. VALENTINE GIFT (4) sets the standard after turning his second-up run into a dominant Kawasaki win, and the fact he can lead from barrier four gives him a clear tactical platform at 2000m. FLUGEL KU (9) is the obvious danger, having fought hard in two recent placings and bringing a proven record at this trip, though he may have to work across from wider out. YUME DREAM (12) is knocking on the door after consecutive Kawasaki thirds over 1600m, but the rise to 2000m is the new test from a wide barrier. HORSE ONE (2) has strong Kawasaki and jockey figures and should be fitter third-up, with the distance rise the query. BREVA (8) has the right track-and-trip record and won by eight lengths before his long break, but race fitness is the unknown.

NEUER HELD
KAZUNORI SAKAI 5YO BAY GELDING 56.0KG Shadai Race Horse Co. Ltd. Returns from a five-week let-up with a great deal to turn around. Finished last at Urawa over 1400m last start, beaten over 17 lengths at big odds after settling rearward, and had been last at Kawasaki over 1500m before that when unwanted in the market. The class drop is some help, but the rise to 2000m looks another hurdle and he must improve sharply. |

HORSE ONE
KENICHI TAKATSUKI 4YO BROWN HORSE 56.0KG Kineo Okada Worked home evenly for third in a 3yo+ C1 over 1600m at Kawasaki last start, beaten just over five lengths while near the top of an open market. The previous eighth was plain, but he is now third-up and his Kawasaki record is a major asset, with three wins and three placings from eight runs here. The step to 2000m is the query, but the set-up keeps him firmly in the race. |

HAKUSHIN DRAGON
MAKI HIRAYAMA 4YO CHESTNUT GELDING 56.0KG Settled rearward and finished sixth in a 3yo+ B2B3 over 2200m at Funabashi last start, beaten five and a half lengths at big odds. That followed a fifth at Urawa, so his recent form is sound rather than dominant. Back to 2000m suits his profile, with one win and three placings from eight starts at the trip, and he profiles as a genuine place hope if he settles closer. |

VALENTINE GIFT
Hiroyuki Mogi 3YO BAY COLT 55.0KG Put a plain resuming run behind him in decisive fashion at Kawasaki last start, leading clearly and beating Oriko El Dorado by four lengths in 3yo+ B3C1 company. He had been unwanted when 11th over 3yo COND grade the run prior, but the sharp rebound is backed by a strong local record of three wins from eight starts here. Drawn to control the speed and looks the one the others must catch. |

SAINT REGALO
TSUTOMU TANAKA 8YO CHESTNUT MARE 51.0KG Dropped out to finish last in a 3yo+ B2B3 over 2200m at Funabashi last start, beaten over 15 lengths after being sent out at big odds. The run prior was also well below the mark when ninth over 1800m and beaten over 14 lengths. A lighter weight and class drop are positives on paper, but her recent finishing efforts leave her needing a major turnaround. |

MARIACHI
KIYOAKI SASAKI 8YO BAY HORSE 56.0KG Yoshie Naito Conceded a big start and finished ninth in a 3yo+ B2B3 over 2200m at Funabashi last start, beaten six and a half lengths after being unwanted in the market. He was sixth there over 1800m the run before, again at long odds, and remains unplaced in three starts at the Kawasaki 2000m. The class drop is a small positive, but he needs to travel much closer to be competitive. |

ESPRIT GONZALEZ
HIDEO KUBO 6YO CHESTNUT HORSE 56.0KG Worked home evenly for third behind Valentine Gift at Kawasaki last start, but was still beaten six and a half lengths and the market gave him little support. His previous second here over 1600m, beaten a head by Hujum, reads better, and his overall Kawasaki record is strong. The concern is turning honest placings into a result at this level after being clearly held by a key rival. |
7 HARUKU SANO |
|
| 8 | 0x51x |
BREVA
SUNAO YAMADA 6YO CHESTNUT HORSE 56.0KG Kozy Racing Returns from a lengthy spell after a powerful Kawasaki win in 3yo+ B2B3 grade, charging home to beat Avany by eight lengths. His previous fifth here was also respectable, and the track-and-trip record is a clear selling point with two wins and four placings from nine attempts. The long absence prevents a stronger push, but his best form gives him a genuine minor-money chance fresh. |
8 RYUSEI NAKAGOSHI |

FLUGEL KU
SATOSHI KOKUBO 4YO CHESTNUT HORSE 56.0KG Fought hard after taking up the running at Funabashi last start, finishing third in a 3yo+ C1 over 1800m and beaten just under two lengths as one of the better-fancied runners. He was pipped at Urawa before that, so the current form line is solid. The return to 2000m is a plus given his distance record, and he looks a strong winning chance if he handles the wider draw. |
9 SHOYA HOZONO |
|

HENNY'S NEPHEW
YOSHIHISA SUZUKI 5YO DK B HORSE 56.0KG Tomohiro Otomi Finished with some purpose from a hopeless position when sixth behind Valentine Gift at Kawasaki last start, but the margin was still over 11 lengths. His previous run was a distant last in 3yo+ B2B3 grade, beaten over 17 lengths after being unwanted in the market. He does have a fair Kawasaki 2000m record, yet recent form says he must lift before being treated as a serious threat. |
10 WADA JOJI |

KOJORYOZOKU
HIRONORI UNOKI 4YO BAY HORSE 56.0KG Gensho Uchida Returns from a one-month break after weakening badly at Urawa in 3yo+ B2B3 grade, finishing eighth and beaten over 14 lengths. Two back he was never a factor in a 3yo+ ALLOW over 1700m at Kokura Dirt and started big odds. The class drop and third-up profile offer some hope of improvement, but he needs to show far more before his place claims look solid. |
11 KOSEI AKIMOTO |
|
| 12 | x4533 |
YUME DREAM
Satoru Furusawa 4YO BAY HORSE 56.0KG Has been edging towards another win, finishing third over 1600m at Kawasaki at his past two starts and beaten just over a length last time by Hujum. He was respected in betting there after placing at longer odds the run prior, so the form has strengthened. The new 2000m assignment from barrier 12 is the obvious test, but his consistency at this track gives him a live chance. |
12 KOSUKE SAKURAI |
|
| 13 | 8x809 |
OKEN DUKE
KENICHI TAKATSUKI 6YO DK B GELDING 56.0KG Akira Fukui Settled back and never threatened when ninth behind Valentine Gift at Kawasaki last start, beaten over 13 lengths at generous odds. Two back he led into the lane in 3yo+ B2B3 company but weakened out to finish second last, beaten over 11 lengths. His overall record says he has talent, but the current preparation has not shown enough finishing strength to support him with confidence. |
13 NORIFUMI MIKAMOTO |

MIKEY MAGIC
HIROSHI YAUCHI 6YO BAY HORSE 56.0KG Made some late ground from well back when tenth in a 3yo+ B2B3 over 2200m at Funabashi last start, beaten seven and a half lengths and never likely to feature. The prior third over 1800m was better, though he still finished five and a half lengths from Prince Oso at big odds. Unplaced at both the distance and Kawasaki, he needs the back-in-trip move to spark a genuine lift. |
