Race 10 1400m Track: |

|---|---|---|---|---|
|
Genuine tempo with Mosho leading the way. A P POETESS (4) sets the standard after going under by just under a length as favourite at Sonoda first-up, and her previous neck defeat in 4yo+ C2 grade gives the form a little more depth than most of these can offer. SAKURA TOP SELLER (3) is the obvious danger, with consecutive Sonoda placings and a sound track-and-distance profile, though he may need the race to flow from off the speed. MOSHO (5) should be the main tempo influence and comes through two honest 3yo+ C3 runs, including a long-neck third two starts back, so the rise from 1230m is the key to his winning case. YAZAN (10) was second here fresh and can hold a place position if he works across from the wide draw. SUNRISE PRIDE (8) resumes from a long break but owns the stronger career record and did make ground in 4yo+ C2 company before spelling.

SPUR CROSS
KOJI OBAYASHI 5YO DK B HORSE 57.0KG Finished fourth at Sonoda in 3yo+ C2 company last start but was beaten over 12 lengths after starting at long odds, so the late improvement in the straight needs to be kept in perspective. The run prior was no better, finishing last over 1230m behind Malts Schon after failing to make headway. He has won at this track and distance, yet his recent margins leave him with a fair task. |

TSUYOSHI OBARU 4YO DK B FILLY 55.0KG Toshihiko Tabata Placed at Sonoda last start, but the margin tells the fuller story, with Lingus Warrior beating her by eight and a half lengths after she settled rearward at long odds. Two back she was fifth over 1700m here, beaten over 11 lengths and again big odds. She has placed twice from six starts at this track and distance, but the winning case remains thin on current form. |

SAKURA TOP SELLER
TOMOTAKA MORISAWA 5YO BAY HORSE 55.0KG Hideki Sakurai Returns from a five-week let-up after a solid third at Sonoda, beaten a length and a half by Super Cool with some market support. That followed a second here behind High Resilience when unwanted in betting but able to work into the money late. Two wins and five places from 18 starts at this track and distance read well for this, and he has the form base to take beating if close enough on turning. |

A P POETESS
KAZUYA SAKAMOTO 4YO DK B FILLY 55.0KG Ryo Kotoura Narrowly missed at Sonoda first-up, finishing second to Re Go To and beaten just under a length after being sent out favourite. Her previous run was another close second in 4yo+ C2 grade over 1700m, beaten a neck by Sweet Fairy, so the consistency is clear. She has a win and two places from six at this track and distance, and second-up she looks well placed to convert. |

MOSHO
KAZUHIRO CHONAN 7YO DK B HORSE 53.0KG Koji Oka Held his ground fairly when fifth over 1230m at Sonoda last start, beaten three lengths by Venice Queen after being near the top of betting. The run prior was stronger, finishing third and beaten a long neck by Gaspard at this track. He looks the likely leader and drops to 53kg, so if the extra ground is within reach, his recent C3 form gives him a genuine chance. |

LONG LONG LONG
TAKESHI KIMURA 4YO CHESTNUT HORSE 56.0KG Toru Makiura Was beaten nine and a half lengths when fifth behind Offshore Girl at Sonoda last start, and there was no supplied excuse to upgrade the performance. The previous third over 1700m was also a distant one, more than 10 lengths from Jun Odr after settling rearward. With no wins from 28 starts, he needs a far stronger closing effort to trouble these. |

FACE NINE
TETSUHARU KURIBAYASHI 6YO BAY MARE 52.0KG Settled rearward and finished fifth in 3yo+ C2 grade at Sonoda last start, beaten just over eight lengths by Caro Avanti at long odds. She had been second last and finished well held here two weeks earlier, so the recent form pattern is plain. A class drop and 52kg help, and she has two track-and-distance wins, but she must show much more spark. |

SUNRISE PRIDE
MASAMICHI KASHIHARA 6YO CHESTNUT HORSE 57.0KG Life House Co. Ltd. Returns from a six-month break after finishing fourth in 4yo+ C2 grade at Sonoda, beaten just over six lengths by Moon Garden while making up good ground. He had earlier run third at Himeji, beaten two lengths by Grun Wald, so the form before the break was respectable. Five wins and nine places from 28 starts give him depth, and fresh he profiles as a sound place chance. |

GALANT
KAZUHIRO CHONAN 6YO BAY GELDING 57.0KG Silk Racing Co. Ltd. Improved into third over 1700m at Sonoda last start, beaten four and a half lengths by Wonder Guarneri at big odds, though the comment was that he did not quicken. His prior ninth over 1230m was plain after giving away a big start and being unwanted in the market. The return to 1400m suits his track-distance record, but his recent form still demands caution. |

YAZAN
MOTOHIRO KOMA 5YO CHESTNUT HORSE 57.0KG Resumed with a second at Sonoda, beaten seven lengths by Fukuno Fear None after being near the top of an open market and working home evenly. His previous run was a well-beaten fifth over 1870m in 4yo+ C2 grade, so the return to this level is more suitable. Barrier 10 makes the set-up less simple, but his two-from-two place record at the distance keeps him in the minor-money mix. |
