KASAMATSU   11 Sep 2026

GOING:

Race 1 1400m

Track:

A race that is devoid of early speed and it is hard to nominate a leader. FUTUR (7) looks the most appealing of the main chances despite plain finishing positions, because her last-start 11th at Niigata was only beaten seven and a half lengths in a 3yo Maiden and this shapes as a more suitable assignment. SWAY BACK (5) was disappointing when sent out favourite at Kasamatsu, but that market respect matters in a race lacking depth, and she has the recent head-to-head edge over Satsuki Jewel. SATSUKI JEWEL (1) draws barrier 1 and is race fit, though her last two margins leave little room for error. REAL STINGER (8) has at least managed a recent fourth here and owns the only career placing among this group, while MEA NANI HIKINA (6) is a place hope if the race becomes a grind rather than a sprint home. Tempo is not obvious, with the key selections mostly midfield or worse, so position before the turn may prove decisive.

Barrier 1 gives her the chance to settle closer than she has in recent runs, which matters after she was seventh at Kasamatsu last start, beaten over 12 lengths by Kataphraktos after having the job ahead. The run prior at Fukushima Dirt was a distant 3yo Maiden failure over 1700m, and she has yet to place in six starts. This is a softer-looking race, but she needs sharp improvement to convert that draw into a winning chance.

Has struggled to get involved in both runs this campaign, finishing last at Kasamatsu a fortnight ago when beaten over 12 lengths by Kataphraktos after sitting too far off them. His previous Fukushima run was weaker again, finishing a distant last in a 3yo Maiden at big odds. Third-up fitness and a class drop help only so much; he must find a much stronger finish before he is a serious player.

Returns after six weeks since finishing second last at Niigata Dirt over 1800m, where she was well held in a 3yo Maiden and sent around at big odds. Her Tokyo Dirt run before that was also plain, beaten over 14 lengths after settling rearward and making no late impression. The class drop is some assistance, but coming back in trip does not remove the need for a significant lift.

Has been safely held in two Kasamatsu runs this campaign, most recently sixth over 800m when beaten over 14 lengths by Beast Wars and unable to make any impression late. The start prior was weaker again, beaten out of sight after settling rearward. He is race fit and fourth-up, but rising sharply in trip off those efforts leaves him facing a difficult task.

Sent out favourite at Kasamatsu last start but failed to come into the race and finished sixth, beaten just over nine lengths by Kataphraktos. That was disappointing, yet the market clearly expected better and she had beaten Satsuki Jewel in that same contest. Two back at Niigata Dirt she was never likely after getting a long way back, though she did finish off respectably. She remains a strong chance if she handles the trip.

Recent margins make the winning case difficult, with her latest Kasamatsu sixth coming when beaten over 19 lengths by Conduct O Harae. She had also been beaten over 16 lengths at Urawa, where she was unwanted in the market and unable to make up ground. The class drop and race fitness give her some place appeal in a thin field, but a first career placing from nine starts is the realistic target.

Returns after six weeks and brings the strongest overall profile despite finishing 11th at Niigata over 2000m last start, beaten seven and a half lengths by Zihuatanejo in a 3yo Maiden. She was also 11th at Tokyo over 1800m two back, but this class drop and third-up setup are important positives. Coming back to 1400m is the question, yet in this field her prior 3yo Maiden form gives her the clearest winning platform.

Returns from a two-month break after a Kasamatsu fourth on a fast track, beaten over 10 lengths by Win Halford after settling rearward. That was at least a better finishing position than most rivals bring, and she also has one career placing from eight starts. Her Sonoda 3yo C2 run before that was plain at long odds, so she profiles as a place chance rather than a confident winning hope.
