Anticipating a genuine tempo over the 1000m journey. POBLANO (4) had been racing consistently, finishing in the money two races on end, until finishing fourth as favourite last time out over 1160m here in Grade 3 company. Yet to miss the frame from four starts at the trip, including a win and shapes as a key contender. VANAKKAM (6) finished 3 lengths from the winner in fifth last time out iin the same race as Poblano. Boasts excellent form at today's trip with three wins from four starts. Has a high cruising speed. Will prove tough to beat. RAFA BAY (5) was in the money two starts back at this track but was unable to repeat the effort last time when seventh, beaten 4 lengths, at this track over 1160m. Yet to miss the placings in three starts over this course and distance. This is a nice drop in grade so he is sure to be prominent. CHAPBOOK (2) finished eighth last time out over 1100m at this track, beaten 4 lengths. Solid top-three hope.
