Miss Trombari and Egyptian Thorn are both expected to press forward and take it up. EGYPTIAN THORN (5) is ready to win off narrow defeats at Kyneton last time, when he led over 1459m, and Seymour on debut, when he charged home from the back. Uses the inside gate, and Coffey is a key jockey booking. Steps up to the mile and he can manage that. ZOUDEADLY (10) was quickly back on track, beaten only 1.5 lengths over 1400m at Cranbourne. That's good form and he had plenty to do. Finds an easier assignment and can take the next step. HALF SCOTCH (14) returns after a minor placing over 1400m at Warrnambool five weeks ago. Has a low gate and some gear chances, and has more up her sleeve. Gives every indication that the step up to 1600m will suit. ROMUALD (3) is a likely improver in good hands and has jumped out well since last seen. Keep a close eye on the betting with the Weir-trained debutant KINGS REFLECTION (6), who has been well educated and won his latest jumpout. Keeps Gordon from that, but he has an awkward gate to manage. SUGGESTED PLAY: Egyptian Thorn appeals most.
