Keen speed battle, with Can't Catch Me, Michael Faraday and Bay Empire prominent. BAY EMPIRE (6) ran another good race last time when second over 1400m at this track, beaten 1.75 lengths. Building to a win and expected to go close. MOCHA FRAPPE (3) finished 3.5 lengths from the winner in fifth last start over 1700m at Vaal, an improvement on his ninth at Vaal the run before. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. MICHAEL FARADAY (2) was in the money two starts back at Vaal but couldn't back it up last time when sixth, beaten 3 lengths, at Turffontein Inside over 1450m. Nicely placed to bounce back. SOUTHAMPTON (1) won at Vaal two starts ago but was below her best at a more recent appearance, finishing eighth over 1450m at Turffontein Inside. Suitably placed so expecting a better run this time.
