Geegees Royal Duke to take charge ahead of Veins Within Rock at a solid tempo. VEINS WITHIN ROCK (4) broke his maiden last start over 1600m at Launceston, scoring by 9 lengths. Was heavily bet off a narrow defeat prior. Jett Stanley retains the ride, and he can go right on with the job. SOUTH GEORGIA (10) gets out over more ground today on the back of some solid 1600m form. Gets home hard and is back in grade with a handy 2kg claim. She's likely to run the journey right out. STAR PERFORMER (11) recorded a strong maiden win over 2100m at Launceston, getting there by 1.75 lengths. She should be better for that, and she cannot be underestimated. THEM'S THE BREAKS (12) has been sprinting well. Tackles a middle distance for the first time and with Byrne Burke riding, is likely to be in it for a long way. SIR JAG (3) needs to lift but should be around the mark. SUGGESTED PLAY: Veins Within Rock to win.
