Strong early tempo with Whispers Of War, Confederate and Diwali Rocket leading the way. WHISPERS OF WAR (1) fought on resolutely when fourth over 1800m on this course last start. He takes a drop in class and with the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew, he should be the one to beat. SHINTO SHRINE (4) followed up his maiden victory with a second-place finish over 1500m at the Vaal. He gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. Stick with him on an each-way basis. CONFEDERATE (2) won a good race when shedding his maiden tag over this distance on the Standside course here last time out. He is up in class but he has scope and should give another good account of himself. DIWALI ROCKET (3) ran on powerfully when winning his last start over this distance. He is a progressive type and with top hoop Piere Strydom in the saddle, he can finish in the placings. Watch closely.
