Pacific Vampire and Ghalib to dominate the early contest ahead of the small field. Group 3 placegetter PACIFIC VAMPIRE (3) showed good pace over 1200m on the all-weather last time and went on to score by 2.75 lengths. Flying at present and there is no reason he cannot bring up the hat trick. Group 1 placegetter GHALIB (1) raced on the speed from the outset last start and finished second, beaten 2.75 lengths by Pacific Vampire, over 1200m on the all-weather. Hard to beat. The consistent MAKIN (2) was racing well without winning, in the money on four consecutive occasions before finishing fourth last time out over 1600m at this track. Gets some decent weight relief this time and is one of the main contenders. BIG UNION (6) led throughout last start to score an effortless 2.5 lengths win over 1100m on the all-weather to bring up the hat trick. Has a strong association with Pinheiro who has been in the saddle for those three wins. Progressive and must be included.
