Moderate tempo headed by Western Impact. ROCKING THE MERC (2) has been holding his form nicely since winning at Roebourne 5 starts back and battled on fairly well to finish third as favourite at Port Hedland nearly 6 weeks ago. The drop back from a mile to 1400m will suit him and from a handy draw, he will be among the hardest to beat. TIME TO THUNDER (3) hit his straps at the back end of his last prep and is resuming over his pet distance after nearly a year off the scene. He has won fresh-up in the past and drawing in the pole position will do him no harm. Any positive market moves are to be followed. DEAL OBTAINED (5) was back in the winners' circle after a long absence at Broome 4 weeks ago and should not find this too much harder. Now that his confidence is back, he could even double the dose. ROEY CLAM (1) overcame a wide draw to post a gritty victory at Carnarvon last week and with only an extra 2kg to carry, he can win again. Stick with him. SUGGESTED PLAY: Rocking The Merc to win.
