A race that lacks early pressure on paper. Track specialist HARDLEY GREY (2) came from the clouds to get up for second over 1400m here two runs back. Hasn't raced over this trip for some time which is the query, but his form around here is hard to fault. Gets the nod in an open affair. The clear threat is CABSAV (1) who returned with a tough third over a similar distance at Grafton last time out. The negative is his poor second-up record, the flipside is his excellent 1200m stats. Must be respected. MONARCH EXPRESS (3) got going when the race was all over at Grafton recently, his first appearance for four months. Lightly raced gelding who improved to finish a close second at this stage last prep. Definite contender. DAZZLING ROBERT (11) hasn't won for a while, with recent efforts just fair. Beautifully drawn and McGuren sticks so worth an each-way investment. VETOED (6) returned from a brief spell with a tough win here at this distance last time. Up in grade but should be prominent again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Happy to be with Hardley Grey.
