Plenty of speed from Ho O Shelly and Metal Speed. GARZA BLANCA (8) was heavily backed and justified the support when resuming last start over 1600m at Nakayama, scoring by a neck. Fitter for that last hitout and is a great chance to get the prize again. DAWN CHORUS (3) came from well back on the bend to win when resuming last start over 1600m at Niigata, scoring by one length. Open to improvement so another big run is on the cards. METAL SPEED (6) doesn't win out of turn, scoring just twice from 28 starts. Did a good job last start to finish second over 1600m at Nakayama, beaten one length. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he has the ability to mix it with them. CHAMPAGNE MARK (7) turned in a fine effort to score by a neck at today's track and distance last start which was an improvement on the first-up run. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is right in contention.
